I want to mention that we are busily working major upgrades to the killer video library, upgrades that will make it easier to find the videos you want to watch.

Screenshot #1 – The video player now supports iPad and iOS video playback.
Screenshot #2 – Each video category will now have their own page and the videos are sortable.
Screenshot #3 – Each video course will have its own page.
The updated Killer Video Library should be out within a week. We have two new courses due out soon as well … more on that later.
Every so often we revamp our core video training packages with updated versions, so that they keep up with the technology changes.
For example, the current version of the Complete Web Designer, has brand new versions of the beginners web design course and our new Dreamweaver CS6 course too … among others.
I was meaning to write this in January, but things got in the way! Anyway, here are the web design trends for 2013 …
1. HTML 5
It think this one is a no brainer … everything and everyone is going HTML 5 and CSS 3:
Android (Google)
iOS / Mac OSX (Apple)
Windows (Microsoft)
… This includes all the major web browsers of course.
When people talk about HTML 5, they are really talking about a group of technologies that work together:
HTML 5
CSS 3
JavaScript
HTML 5 and CSS 3 are basically very powerful extensions to HTML and CSS … and so if you understand the basic principles and techniques of these two foundation web languages, HTML5 and CSS3 should be approachable. That said, the added power does present some head scratching challenges a long the way. No worries though, we have the easy to follow training for you.
I believe 2013 will be good for HTML5, CSS3 and small business development on the Web. That means you will see a lot more training from KillerSites on these subjects this year.
What else do we have coming up?
I have a lot planned but if I had to pick the top three things:
There once was a time (6 months ago) where updating WordPress was a real pain in the butt. Fortunately for us lazy nerds, those days are past us!
WordPress 3.5 Upgrade is Flawless!
We just upgraded a few of our WordPress based blogs (as you should!) and the one click upgrade worked for the for time for us. And in fact, it worked on many sites. So my congrats to the WP nerds for finally getting this right.
For me, it is a combination of things that the store does:
Let’s people interact with the store in a way that enhances the store for everyone.
Makes it easy for people to find what they are looking for.
Creating a store ‘smart’, is much more about making it simple and useable … rather than trying to add all kinds of fancy whiz-bang technology to it. But technology is part of the equation as well.
