Myshka
Hi, I am currently a Studio Web student (still learning to code) and I am working on my very first web design gig ever! Although using mockup tools may not appeal to "everyone", I am a pre planning kind of gal, and would benefit greatly from a mockup tool. Can anyone suggest a tool that they use and/or recommend? The following are free tools that I found online, and I would appreciate any comments if you are familiar with any of these. Cacoo, Gliffy, Jumpchart, Mockflow, Framebox, Wireframe.cc, Pencil Project, iPlotz, and Invision App Cacoo means "pooh" in Ukrainian, so I think I'll pass on that one. Not a good omen! haha Thanks! administrator
I would suggest you use a tool that you are comfortable with; when it comes to mockups, speed is everything. I use paper and pen to start ... and then when I feel I have something, I will move to my favorite drawing (vector) program ... something that very few use these days. In fact, my copy is 10yrs old and I've never bothered to update it because it works really well for me! I assume you are just laying out the basic positioning of elements on your pages. When it comes to style, they you have to break out something more serious and perhaps jump into Photoshop or something similar like Corel Paint or the Gimp. LSW
Check out Balsamiq Mockups. That is what my office uses. I believe you can use it just fine free, but have to pay for the bells & whistles. I have come to really like it.
