Missing login link on wordpress themes

I have just downloaded WordPress and successfully got it working on my hosting. I then went looking for some more themes. The ones I like are on webshapes, but I have noticed that they are missing the login function, any reason as to why, and how do I overcome this?

maybe the theme developer created the theme for a blog that has the login system disabled!. you should look into the wordpress help & support section and there will be some to show you what code to use and where to place it within your template files

You don't really need the login link. You can access the login this way: www.yoursite.com/wp-login.php .

 

Alternatively, you can insert the login link in the footer yourself. http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_loginout

I could log using the admin page, but needed the login/register links for others, all just experimental at the moment, but getting to grips with it. And have now inserted them.

Now off to play with the css and adjust the layout.
