lesley Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Hi, i made a webpage using CSS and php includes. I made custom error pages, 404.shtml I would rather them be php pages so i can put my include code in. I tried and the pages didnt work. Is this possible? Quote
newseed Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 You didn't give us much to go on because we can't see the code for the 404 page. My bet is that you can just take one of your existing php page, save it as a 404.php and edit that page to conform to 404 details that you wish to display. Quote
lesley Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 oh, he site is ticanew.com THe 404 page is here; http://ticanew.com/404.php I just copied the code on my index page and changed the Content to say "Sorry we could not find that page." Is there some special 404 code i have to add? Quote
newseed Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Do you have .htaccess to tell it what to redirect to where? This link might be helpful to you. Quote
LSW Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Have a look at the 404 Research Lab, it might help, and while your at it... User friendly 404 error messages reconsidered. [i hope the research lab link is still good, it is blocked from my computer.] Quote
