Both Mac and Windows come with a print screen command.

 

Like Corinne said, on Windows you usually have a "Print Screen" button on your keyboard that will copy the screen to your clipboard. Open up Paint (or another graphics program, like Photoshop), create a new document, and paste it in there. Save the file to your desktop.

 

On a Mac, you can capture the screen using "Apple Key - Shift - 3". That should save the contents of your screen to a file on the desktop.

 

If you are using Firefox, there are a couple good plugins for capturing screenshots. Pearl Crescent Page Saver Basic is my favorite.
