DanExcel Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 So many have written Flash off, thanks to the iPhone and iPad. Now, they (Adobe) present Edge. Its an authoring tool powered by HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. Is this a good thing, or do we prepare ourselves for a new wave annoying animations.
virtual Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 I was asking myself the same question. I use Flash but only for it's video compressing qualities. I haven't seen if Edge is capable of doing that.
DanExcel Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 It's in the early stages right now and it does not play well with IE7 or 8. I did not see anything about video, but I beleive the main idea behind video right now is to do away with proprietary plugins period.

I think new wave annoying animations platform would be wide.
