One thing I would Like to mention that On an Average A web developer earns less as compared to software developers in C++, Java etc or DBA (Only if they get a Good job)

web design & development is a great field as a career if you are a good learner.
Web Development is such a great career where you can earn as a freelancer too.

Web design &  Development is not about just one thing but to start with You must be having a good hand on many different programming  languages HTML, Javascript, CSS3, Jquery followed by a lot of other things: like PHP, Mysql, Wordpress, and Many other things
