Hey guys, I'm brand new to Studio Web and professional web design. So, hello world! I started working on my first free portfolio job which is a Wix site redo and looking for some tips on learning this system to do advanced html and css and js down the road. I'm not really finding too many good sites that provide advanced tactics. It seems most people stay in the Wix templates and don't get into to the code. What I'm looking to do is make the site responsive first and foremost. It looks like it only has two modes which is maximized desktop and mobile. It seems like there needs to be some media queries added to get the tablets and small screens to work. What I'm looking for are some suggestions on articles and youtube channels that can talk about more advanced topics in wix web design and development. I'm not seeing too many. Just looking for suggestions other than wix marketing bs videos. Any help is much appreciated super pumped to be in this community. Thanks, Anthony

Hi, Just a quick comment on upping your web design and development game. After you learn the basics of web design, you should start developing and optimizing a workflow that will save you time, and help reduce errors in your work. Here are some suggestions: Start tracking all time put on a web design job. This includes clients meetings in person and on the phone. This also includes planning and prepping development ... besides actually spending the time writing code, preparing images etc. Explore frameworks and libraries that can help you the type of web design work that you do. If for example, you are a developing information rich websites for small business, then check out a CMS like WordPress or Drupal as a development platform. Start putting together file naming and code conventions. If you get into web development, MVC frameworks like PHP Laravel, or Python Django will already have this in place. Stefan

I just watched the video 'Is Freelancing just Trading one Boss for Many?' I agree with the strategy that "Its far better to have 100 small clients rather than a couple of big ones". I like to kickstart some discussion here to discuss about how should we go about it implement this strategy to build a stable freelance business. My first thought on this topic is that we should target small business that require to change their website regularly(e.g. restaurant, florist, mobile shop).

Getting your web design class up and running is easy with StudioWeb. The steps are: We set up your StudioWeb classroom(s), where each student gets their own user ID. Teachers give students their IDs, and they log in and start with the HTML course. As your students watch the videos and answer quiz questions, the StudioWeb software tracks their progress auto generating grades for you by course, chapter and even the lesson! You have the option to assign them projects that we provide. The projects start on ch3 of the HTML course. We have a total of 57 projects between the HTML,CSS and JavaScript courses. Each project bound to a chapter in a course. We provide an easy to use grading rubric for the projects. Even teachers who don’t know code, can accurately assess student work with help of the grading rubric. Using the projects is optional, since the StudioWeb auto grading is very accurate. It is practically impossible for students to get stuck on a lesson, given how the StudioWeb app and courses are designed. But, if ever a question should come up (and you don’t have an answer,) the course creator (Stefan) will be able to answer questions the same day. … I make it a point to be in contact with teachers.
