How to Find a Web Host that Supports PHP
Find a PHP Host
I'm guessing that most of you already have a website online and/or have access to some space on a server. I'm also going to go out on a limb and guess that most (if not all) of you use servers that support PHP; if you upload a PHP page (PHP scripts are in PHP pages BTW) to your server, your PHP scripts should run.
How can I assume that your server will probably run PHP?
Simple grasshoppers, PHP is everywhere and most importantly, it’s free! That’s why most hosting companies support (support = allows you to run) PHP, although there are always exceptions...
How can I find out if my host supports PHP?
You have three ways to figure this out:
- Call them and ask.
- Go to your host website and check out their services – it should say if they support PHP.
- Upload a simple PHP page and see if it works.
The first two options are pretty obvious and I will not go into detail on how to go about doing it … I think you guys can handle it! But option three is another matter … how can you test for PHP, if you don’t know how to write PHP? Let’s take care of that now!
