brandon Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Hi all, New to the forum here so apologies if I'm asking an old question. I have been trying to add a google tracking code to a website with no luck. The process seems really straight forward so I can't figure out why I'm having problems. Here's what I'm doing: 1.go to my browser and click view source on the main page. i copy that source code to a textedit file. 2. place my google code in front of the as required.3.save a copy of this as a text edit file, save another copy as html, manually typing in .html at the end of the file name. 4.upload that html file to the server using cyberduck. 5.click yes to replacing original file name, "source code for website.html" with my file which is named the same. It should be taking right? or am i doing something wrong? Any thoughts? This has been driving me crazy.
falkencreative Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Do you have a link to the file you are trying to add the tracking code to?
brandon Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 I've found out they actually have urchin software installed, which explains why the code wasn't taking in the first place. If I have any more issues though I'll send you the page. Thanks for the offer.
