pofrot Posted January 5, 2012 Report Share Posted January 5, 2012 Hey guys Been on holiday now for 4 weeks a quite bored. Decided to make a website on Dreamweaver CS3. Uploaded site to FTP server for testing, and all should work, well it doesnt. I uploaded the files to public_html folder. But when I type domain name www.example.com it only brings up the index with all folders. When I type in www.example.com/index.html the site opens correctly. Did I miss/delete something, what am I missing. Spent the whole morning googling the prob but with no luck. Web design and what not is totaly new to me. Andrea Posted January 5, 2012 Report Share Posted January 5, 2012 Check with your host - index.html (or htm, or php, or .... -- but 'index' something) is usually the default folder, however, a few hosts may use something like default.html instead.
