daddyalfie
I posted a topic similar to this a while ago, but here is a more complicated version: HERE is the problem! Scroll down a bit and you will see several montages of photos. Each one of these is a PhotoShop creation, so each one is a "picture of pictures" Can this kind of layout be created with CSS? HOW? With in-line styling for each pix? My client would like to see complete "alt" attributes for each picture and that is just not happening with this layout! Hep me! Can you? falkencreative
Yeah, you can, but it would be fiddly. You'd probably need to use absolute positioning and z-index to position each of the pictures where they need to go. You could do this by either adding a class to each photo, or by doing inline styling on each photo. Personally, I'd stick with the current version if at all possible. Why is the client asking about the alt attributes for each picture? For SEO reasons, or for accessibility reasons?
daddyalfie
Why is the client asking about the alt attributes for each picture? For SEO reasons, or for accessibility reasons? Mostly SEO reasons. Right now the whole montage has an "alt" saying "Montage of pictures from the ...etc" I shall try to convince him that this is sufficient. Thanks for the answer Ben! It is just as I suspected. Alfie
falkencreative
I would say try to compromise -- ensure that the alt text on the montage image is SEO optimized with the proper keywords, and hopefully the client will be satisfied with that.
