theAdmiral
How do I uninstall LAMPP on a Kubuntu Linux box? I have tried both Adept and Synaptic and the package does not turn up. I am using the keyword "LAMPP". Your help is greatly appreciated. theAdmiral
monkeysaurus
Hi, You'll probably get better advice over at the Ubuntu forums, but here's my tuppence for what it's worth. In Adept or Synaptic, the keywords you should be searching for are Apache, PHP, and MySql. It goes without saying, if you have any databases or sites under your web root, back them up. jlhaslip
How did you install the LAMPP application? If it is an XAMPP install, simply removing the /opt/Lampp folder should delete the application, *I think*...
theAdmiral
As I remember it, I uninstalled each package independently in Synaptic..
lwsimon
As I remember it, I uninstalled each package independently in Synaptic.. Then you'll want to remove each package LAMPP means "Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl". So, you'll need to remove Apache, which should remove all the mod_xxx stuff using Synaptic. Then remove MySQL and PHP. Perl, you might want to keep, as it is often used by other apps in Linux.
monkeysaurus
This is where I got a bit confused - LAMPP is also the former name of a port of XAMPP for Linux, which I think theAdmiral was using. He seems to have got it all working now though.
