Guest It'sMeAgain
Hi Guys I was just wondering, is it possible to get jobs in programming without actual qualifications? Also, I understand that Stef teaches in a different way so I'm wondering if that would create problems in a company as apposed to working for yourself? Thanks Sandy
falkencreative
Perhaps you can explain what you mean by "Stef teaches in a different way"? In my experience, if you have the skills (and can demonstrate them by writing code, portfolio examples, etc.) people don't care so much whether you have a degree or school-based qualifications. This isn't to say you shouldn't have qualifications (a lack of school-based qualifications may hinder you in the long run) but just that they aren't as important if you can show you know what you are doing. Guest It'sMeAgain
Hi Thanks for your reply, What I mean by "Stef teaches in a different way" is for eg in his introduction Video he says "there are X amount of codes to learn in html but we only need to learn 6" Stef also says repeatedly "the way I teach you". There was nothing negative ment by my comment.
falkencreative
I think he was just meaning that his course teaches HTML slightly differently than a class that you might take in college. Learning via a video course is a bit different than in class, and he focused primarily on the code, whereas some classes start by teaching you Dreamweaver, and you may or may not learn the code. I don't think there is any trouble with either method -- as long as you understand it, and can demonstrate that you understand it to a potential employer, that's the important part.
