Hi

Im wanting to design my own web page using just a text editor, I started out with the basics just a title and header and i saved it as a html file but when i go to view it using safari it just comes up showing the code? I am using a mac Any help would be great thanks

When using a text editor for web design you need to make sure that when you save your file the extension is htm or html not txt. Oftentimes this is overlooked.

Also, if you are using TextEdit to edit your files, make sure you to go TextEdit > Preferences and double check that the "plain text" option is selected (rather than the default "rich text") under the "Format" heading.

Thankyou! Changing it to plain text worked a treat trying to make your own first web page and not getting past first stage was frustrating!
