administrator
Hi, Some of you probably noticed that the server was down ... again. Well, this last overload was the 'last straw' ... and we are now upgrading to a much more powerful server. Too much traffic. Besides moving to much faster hardware, we are also moving to much bigger pipes - the current uplink is 10mbs, we will soon be on 100Mbps port! ... Overall, we should see a nice increase in speed and more consistent up time. We need this because of the hundreds of new videos coming out soon. For instance, we just finished up 9hrs of Photoshop CS5 videos. Stefan
administrator
We figured out why the server kept going down: traffic spikes. I had guessed it was traffic related (not hard to figure out ..) but I just got confirmation. It seems we were even knocking out the NIC card (!) due to the traffic spikes. The new server is being assembled today and we will start the migration process over the next few days. ... So there might be some temporary hiccups along the way.
