Using blog software with Templates

Hello - this may be an absolutely silly question, but is it possible to use blogging software on a site that has been constructed using templates? Would it work if I just took the template off one of the pages and used the software there? PS 'Beginner' is right!!

In general, I'd say no... unless you have a template that is intended to work with a specific blogging software (for example, you downloaded a Wordpress specific template). If you have a regular HTML/CSS template, it may take a bit bit of work to adapt it to fit, though obviously not as much work as designing something from scratch.
