Accessible Pop up: Add Close link?

Another question about the accessible pop up!

I don't understand how to add a "Close this window" link to the pop up.

 

It's discussed here and viewing the source shows this:

But I don't get it. When using the generator, there's nothing about the close link.

Shouldn't you simply be able to add this bit of javascript into the popup html file?
