catfish Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 I recently have been told a website I am working on has all kinds of layout issues when viewing it with Windows 98. Windows 98! How many use that anymore?? My question is - should I be concerned about this. My feeling is to not worry about it. What do you think?:/ Quote
Wickham Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) I still use Windows 98SE with IE6 on an old computer to test websites on IE6. What are the problems? Are they related to display in IE6 or an earlier version of IE or are they related to the operating system, or a program on it like Flash? IE6 (which is often on WIN 98SE) still has 15% of the browser share http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp but the share of the market by WIN98 is low http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php Edited July 4, 2009 by Wickham Quote
catfish Posted July 4, 2009 Author Report Posted July 4, 2009 I have no idea what they are seeing. The link is http://mindyourelders.awardspace.com/index.html Do you mind having a look at it. I'm not sure I would know how to fix whatever it is. Thanks Quote
newseed Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 It does break in IE6. The main cause is the dropdown menu in which IE6 will need a bit of javascript for it to work. Right now the dropdown likes are all expanded. The other issue is the transparent pngs. Both can be fixed. Just use a bit of jsquery script that you can find at cssplay.com and one of the many png fixes out there. Quote
