I don't have IE6, so I cannot see what it's doing, but I'm surprised it looks ok in Firefox - 55 Validation errors, and that with an improper XHTML transitional doctype - styles between the and

tag, deprecated and semantically misused tags, and you can probably drop the IE5 support.

As I'm reading the next post, I actually remember http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/ - a link someone posted here a while back. Now I can see what's wrong in IE6.

 

Also, I noticed the missing title - not anything that will affect page display, but a helpful feature that shouldn't be neglected.

You might try floating your #mainContent left. Fixing the HTML errors surely won't hurt and that is where I would start.
