  1. When migrating WordPress sites from server to server, I wholeheartedly recommend Backup Buddy from iThemes. http://pluginbuddy.com/purchase/backupbuddy/ I've done a few and it's so easy - I don't even have to go in and correct urls.
  2. Awesome! I was hoping you'd say that. I'll PM you (or just email you) in a little while. Hubby just got back with our take-out Chinese food. Later!
  3. Hi everyone! I'm wondering if anyone is available in the next couple days to help me with a background for a site I'm designing. I know what I want, but I don't have the skills to do it. If any of the regulars are good with fading images into a "solid" color background, I would like to talk to you! Basically, I need to have a cobblestone path or walkway on the bottom of the background that fades into the slightly textured background (I hope I'm making sense). If you're available and interested, please PM me for more details. Thanks!!

You could search for icons on a site like this http://www.iconfinder.com/ and then just link them to the appropriate page. (I'm assuming you are looking for icons...if I'm incorrect, sorry about that!)
  5. Yep, I do it to avoid the search engines. Clients search for their name and wonder why their site shows up on discussion boards rather than in the actual search results. Obviously, since their site is new, it's not going to show up right away, but they don't always understand that. I also do it for the reason Wickham stated - I don't want my clients to see links to threads discussing problems with their sites.
  6. I got the same error. I'm also using IE Tester - don't have a native copy of IE 6 anymore.
  7. Cool! I really love that site. Now to make your life even easier, you should totally integrate a CMS. My vote is WordPress!
  8. Hmmm....I don't know of a plugin for use with categories. Sorry about that. Maybe this might help? Or I wonder if doing it via CSS will suffice?
  9. From inside your dashboard, search for Dynamic Headers by Nicasio Design. Read about it here. It allows you to choose the header image for each page individually. I'm using it on this site. (Please ignore the horrible-ness of the site...we're still working out a LOT of issues.
  10. Thanks, Ben! That did it. I was going crazy! I tried that, but had it in the wrong order. I was trying to make #content .single h1.entry-title work and it was NOT. lol Thanks again.
  11. Thanks, Corinne! I went ahead and used !important (never thought of that!) so that it would display correctly.
  12. Okay, for real. I am trying to change the font for the h1 on the single blog page for this site: http://tinyurl.com/4ax87xj I've used firebug to try to figure this out, but I can't get it. Here's the code I'm trying to make work: .single h1.entry-title { color: #5c2c88; font-family: 'Century Gothic', Arial, Sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; } What am I missing????
  13. I use Microsoft Expression Web which is the next generation of Frontpage. Take a look at www.pricegrabber.com for great discounts. Also, if you have a licensed copy of Frontpage, I believe you can get a discount on Expression Web.
  14. Oh my gosh, thank you, Lynne! I've been staring at it too much today and it just wasn't clicking. And yeah, I was talking about Safari for PC. Thanks again!!
  15. URL: http://tinyurl.com/65r9gs5 The header on this blog looks fine in all browsers except Safari and IE 7. For some reason, the navigation is over too far to the right in those browsers. I can't see the problem and I was wondering if someone here might be able to take a look. Thanks!
  16. Thanks, Ben. I was going cross-eyed here. This website is frustrating me so much!
  17. URL: http://tinyurl.com/38p4btb Okay, I cannot see what's happening here. I'm using Firebug and it's not helping. I would love an extra pair of eyes here.... In the right sidebar, there's an image/button for Donation House that needs to move over to the left. Can you see what's going on?? BTW, this design has gone to you know where in a you know what. It's not even my design any more. My client is having me use this and that to throw the thing together. Ack.
  18. I haven't looked at any of these in great detail, but yeah, it's possible: http://www.google.com/search?q=keep+header+stationary+while+rest+of+page+scrolls&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
  19. There's a link in the lower right corner that says it's IP Board software. http://www.invisionpower.com/products/board/
  20. Oh yes....texture and text will be added. I'm just waiting for my client to give me the text.
  21. Thanks. I was concerned that the sign is so small that it's unreadable. We shall see what my client says after he sees it.....
  22. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I decided to take it a different (easier) way.
  23. Hmmm.... Any other ideas on how I can incorporate the sign? This is supposed to be a quick theme customization and it's turning into a big headache!
  24. Can I ask a stupid question? Would I need to reduce the content width to make that work? 800 pixels wide is not going to work.
  25. Correct, I'm talking about the sign that is part of the background image. I want it to appear on the left side of the content area. It looks great on my computer, but I'm concerned about smaller monitors. He wants to keep the sign as is because it's what he has used on all his literature. And eventually, there will be a logo where his name currently shows. Eddie, I'm curious about why you suggest making the sign a separate image. Because if someone has a smaller screen, won't it show on top of the content area since there isn't room on the side? I'm probably making this more difficult than it needs to be. I'm really good at doing that.
