yesdavy Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Site traditonalgolfsociety.com showing horizontal scroll bar whereas two other sites markdex.com and persimmontour.com both using the same Weaver theme do not show it. This seems so simple but I am baffled. I have checked the wp-admin functions.php and all the settings seem in order. Any suggestions? Thank you.
newseed Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Your ##site-description div is too wide. Adjust the width to be about 40%;
yesdavy Posted October 31, 2011 Author Report Posted October 31, 2011 Where is that and how did it get different from my other two Weaver theme sites when I have been (I thought) following the exact same procedures for all three sites. Apologies for being a dense newbie and thanks for your help.
newseed Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 The other two sites that are not having the horizontal issue have less margin left. You could adjust that instead. In any case, the css are different.
yesdavy Posted November 2, 2011 Author Report Posted November 2, 2011 Your ##site-description div is too wide. Adjust the width to be about 40%; I have been trying to figure this out. The site description in all of the sites is identical: #site-description { clear: right; float: right; font-style: italic; margin: 14px 0 18px 0; width: 220px; I am not understanding what you said about the left margin is different on the TGS site that has the horizontal scroll bar I am trying to eliminate. Per above, it is identical in all 3 sites.
newseed Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 (edited) It may look like the theme has a self generating styles script that you will need to edit via the theme's configuration or settings. Those styles will override the default style.css file. Just look at the themes settings via WP admin. Edited November 2, 2011 by Eddie
