daffydorf
Hi, I'm a new subscriber to Killersites University. While completing the 1st Web Design lesson I encountered a problem at the end when I tried to view index.txt as a Web Page. I tried IE as well as Firefox browsers with same result. When I double click index.txt on my Desktop I only see the text I entered in Textpad. Also when I right-click on the Desktop and choose Text Document I'm routed to Textpad not Notepad. Can anyone help me with this problem?
virtual
You need to save your document as an .html document otherwise the browsers cannot read it. Make sure when you save it, that it only saves as index.html not index.html.txt
falkencreative
The first step I'd take is renaming the file to use the .html ending rather than .txt. It needs to be .html in order for your web browser to understand what sort of file it is. Try that, then post back if you have further issues. daffydorf
Thank you very much. I changed the extension to .html and it worked like a charm.
