fisher4
I hope someone can help me. I am trying to learn how to see the code I have created in a text file in a browser, but I can't work it out. I have been going through the free tutorials but still can't find anything. virtual
You will have to give your text file the extension .html to open it in a browser. Be careful with whatever text editor you are using that it does not add both extensions .txt and .html.
Andrea
If you just want to see the code of any website in your browser, right-click in IE and Firefox gives you a drop-down with the option to "View Source" - I imagine the other browsers have a similar option. In Firefox, you can download the add-on Firebug, which even allows you to change the code and see how it effects the page. That's for experimenting only, it won't actually change the page. fisher4
Thanks for your quick response. After posting my question I decided to go ahead and buy the Web Design Video Tutorial, which has also helped me to understand how to do this, plus heaps more. thanks
