  1. Hi Akurtula, Thanks so much for the article link, I really appreciate it. When you mentioned book from SitePoint, are you referring to CSS Anthology? I see they have a couple of books on CSS.

    ID VS class

Hi Kyle thank you very much for your input. I really appreciate it.
  3. I see.. It's clear now. Thank you very much.
  4. Hi, it's me again. I hope it's okay to ask many questions I am wondering: should I use em as a standard of measurement for other website elements as well in addition to font (e.g margin, padding, table)? I understand that using em would make fonts resizable. Should I use em all across the board for the sake of consistency? Or is it okay to use em for fonts and px for other elements? Thank you in advance for your help.
  5. Thanks a lot for your help Andrea and Stefan, much appreciated.

    ID VS class

Hi falkencreative, when you said it's illegal to repeat an ID multiple times in a page, are you referring to generally accepted web standards or law?
  8. Hi Andrea, thank you so much for your reply, much appreciated. If I may seek your advise further: do you also use CSS exclusively to layout image? Suppose there are 8 images (e.g. 90 x 90 pixels) I need to arrange in 4x2 matrix. Should I use CSS or HTML table to do that?
  9. I found so many advises on the internet suggesting not to use HTML table as much as possible. Some of them even suggest to avoid HTML table at all costs. Is using HTML table really that bad? Do I need to totally abandon HTML table even only to create a very simple tabular data? I understand that using HTML table to create website layout could cause some problems. But for creating tabular data?

    ID VS class

I hope this question is not too basic to post in this forum I am wondering when should I use ID over class and vice versa? I understand that ID is more suitable for an element that occurs only once in one page whereas class can be use multiple times. However, it appears to me that some web designers use them rather loosely. I found some web use class instead of ID when I thought ID is more suitable and vice versa. It certainly is possible that wesites/webpages I observed might not follow CSS best practices. But, I wonder what are the consequences of not using ID and class appropriately?
  11. Hi FalkenCreative, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your view. I really appreciate it. There are indeed lots of things to learn but it means lots of fun too Thanks again for your advise. Have a great week.
  12. Hi guys, I am wondering what would be the "best" route to learn how to design a website. My short term goal is to be able to customize my Wordpress-based sites. As for my medium/long term goal is to be able to build WP sites from scratch. I am using both of Thesis and Headway theme as the framework for some of my sites. I realized that in order for me to be able to customize my sites up to the level of (to name but a few): http://www.elegantth...TheCorporation/ http://themeforest.n...n_preview/89890 http://themeforest.n...17?ref=mancuso5 http://www.slabovia.tv/ - or http://www.toucouleur.fr/ ...there are a whole range of skill sets I need to master which is quite an overwhelming task to do. If it's not too much to ask, how do you think I should approach my learning? Perhaps from your own experience. I am not a complete beginner on Photoshop, CSS, and HTML. Before I joined KillerSites, whenever I stumbled upon a problem on any of the three areas I usually just googling them to search from some solutions. This is indeed time consuming. However, for PHP I have zero knowledge about it. Should I learn PHP from A to Z before I could be able to start customizing my site or is there some PHP codes library most often used for WP? Thank you in advance for your kind assistance. My apology if I ask too many questions.
