    Suggestions for a contact form?

Hi, Concerning potential customers, instead of having an email on the home page of my site to copy/paste to contact me, I'm considering making a contact form that emails me when someone makes a new instance in the database, saying they're interested in me making them a new site. Anyone have any data on what gave you a better response?? Email to copy/paste, or contact form?? A contact form looks better, it's easy to make too... But I fear dropping 8 questions might turn people off vs seeing an email, even though they'd have to answer them anyway. I ask because my experience with people so far is that most don't know what they want, they just think they want something. Then they realize they were in over their head and get scared away when thinking of details. What has given you the best response?? What would you do??

Freelancing panic - help on finding work

Thanks for the reply. I have his course too. I was being a little too emotional from aggravation elsewhere. Shouldn't have let the get to me while finding work. Anyways, I found some other options that seem better, and I'll go down those paths.
  4. Hi, For the past couple days I've been bidding on projects on freelancer and upwork for Django projects. And all I gotta say is this is extremely demoralizing /saddening. Many people posting a job there want a $3000+ job in USD for under $500, or some similarly laughable amount. And the people who actually have a decent price for the work they want done, since most freelancers there are from 3rd world countries, they win the projects because the cost of living for them is much lower than me in the US. Anyone have any tips? What can I do? Where can I go?
  5. Hi, I'm about to start freelancing. I'm full stack, so I know python, django, html, css, svg, javascript, animations, art, and linux. I already have a nice website with a bunch of apps with advanced functions. I'd say it really pops. I use Digital Ocean to host it. Today I got someone who is interested. I haven't mentioned I'd do it for free yet, but depending on the size, I might. I sent them the project assessment today. I'm gonna see how things go, and might just charge lower than I hope, instead of going free. If I do it for free, and all they want is a single web page, with say, an email sign up app... Does anyone have an idea on how I'd tell them in a nice way "You have to pay for your Digital Ocean server ($5/month), and domain name ($~10/yr)" ...??? Because I don't want to pay for that. Also, how I'd go about logging into their DO account from there, with their username / password. I know how to login to my DO account, but it looks real fishy that I'd be telling someone who has never met me, to pay money on those things, so they can give control of their account to me, possibly with their credit card number saved in it... If there is some way I can use my existing account, get them to pay me $5 by paypal, make a new VPS, then transfer ownership of that VPS to a future DO account they make when the project is done, that'd be much easier. If anyone has any suggestions / insight on this, I'd love to hear. Thanks!
