  1. Hi everyone!

    I'm wondering if anyone is available in the next couple days to help me with a background for a site I'm designing. I know what I want, but I don't have the skills to do it. If any of the regulars are good with fading images into a "solid" color background, I would like to talk to you! :) Basically, I need to have a cobblestone path or walkway on the bottom of the background that fades into the slightly textured background (I hope I'm making sense).

    If you're available and interested, please PM me for more details. Thanks!!

  2. Yep, I do it to avoid the search engines. Clients search for their name and wonder why their site shows up on discussion boards rather than in the actual search results. Obviously, since their site is new, it's not going to show up right away, but they don't always understand that.

    I also do it for the reason Wickham stated - I don't want my clients to see links to threads discussing problems with their sites.

  3. Okay, for real. I am trying to change the font for the h1 on the single blog page for this site: http://tinyurl.com/4ax87xj

    I've used firebug to try to figure this out, but I can't get it. Here's the code I'm trying to make work:

    .single h1.entry-title {
    color: #5c2c88;
    font-family: 'Century Gothic', Arial, Sans-serif;
    font-size: 16px;
    font-weight: bold;
    }

    What am I missing????

    Okay, I cannot see what's happening here. I'm using Firebug and it's not helping. I would love an extra pair of eyes here....

    In the right sidebar, there's an image/button for Donation House that needs to move over to the left. Can you see what's going on??

    BTW, this design has gone to you know where in a you know what. It's not even my design any more. My client is having me use this and that to throw the thing together. Ack.

  5. Correct, I'm talking about the sign that is part of the background image. I want it to appear on the left side of the content area. It looks great on my computer, but I'm concerned about smaller monitors. He wants to keep the sign as is because it's what he has used on all his literature. And eventually, there will be a logo where his name currently shows.

    Eddie, I'm curious about why you suggest making the sign a separate image. Because if someone has a smaller screen, won't it show on top of the content area since there isn't room on the side?

    I'm probably making this more difficult than it needs to be. I'm really good at doing that. B)
