background image in IE not centrally aligning correctly.

Okay im hoping this is some really amateur mistake i just cant see, but basicaly im designing a myspace page (please dont make fun of me haha..) for my frieds band and ive got it all looking perfect in every browser except in internet explorer, it appears in IE the background image doesnt align properly, if anyone could advise me that would be amazing...

Try changing the positioning of your background image to

body {
background: url(http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/3985/bg364.gif) #2c2c2c no-repeat 0 0;
}

tried doesnt seem to work, just aligns the background image to the left, thanks for you help though

Firefox appears to be centering the background but IE is making it left-aligned.

 

0 0 means top left so try top center:-

 

body {
background: url(http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/3985/bg364.gif) #2c2c2c no-repeat top center;
}

after putting that code in nothing changes, still works perfectly in every browser other than internet explorer, im stumped! thanks for your input

actually scratch that last comment, when i put that in instead the bg image wont actually load, am i doing something wrong? ive left the code in there on the first link so you can check the source.... thanks again.

I notice that the page hasn't got a doctype right at the top above the html tag and that often affects IE more than Firefox.
