Guest ethanreese
I'm new to this forum, and was hoping to get some assistance. I am not a programmer, but have managed to tweak bits and pieces of codes. This one came in quite difficult for me to figure out. i hope someone can help me out. I wanted to put a sub menu under "services" for example.. how do we do this using the same style as the main nav? basic navigation: Home About Us Services Projects Careers Contact CSS: #navigation { height: 50px; position: absolute; background: url(../images/layout/nav-bg.jpg) repeat-x; border-top: solid 1px #5b6066; } #navigation ul { list-style: none; margin: 0; padding-left: 20px; } #navigation ul li { float: left; display: inline; } #navigation a { height: 50px; display: block; float: left; padding: 0 20px; } #navigation a:hover, #navigation a.active { background: url(../images/layout/nav-active-arrow.gif) no-repeat 50% 100%; } Thanks!!!! Wickham
Drop down menus can be quite complicated and it's not easy to add all the code without reference to a menu that already works. I suggest that you look at hundreds of menus at cssplay, choose one that is close to what you want and edit it. http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/ Try the Definition List menus first, like this one:- http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/variable_dl.html then the Latest Demontrations on the right like this one:- http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/anywidth2.html Edited June 2, 2009 by Wickham
