williamrouse Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 The code below is a table that produces an error when using IE. I have viewed the table in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE and in IE 7 and 8 a blank space occurs after a break, ? . I don't know how to or if I can insert a picture of the problem to clarify my verbal description, if this is possible let me know. Thank you! falkencreative Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Instead of having a separate line for each try placing them on the same line like this: Family Unification & Resettlement Initiative, Ja.-LTD 47 D Old Hope Road Kingston 5, Jamaica 876-6206561 If that doesn't work, there may be some CSS styling that is causing issues. Try the above idea first, otherwise, post a link to a test page so we can take a look. Quote
williamrouse Posted April 9, 2009 Author Report Posted April 9, 2009 Benjamin Falk: Thanks for you suggestion. It did not resolve the issue. Below is a link to the offending page: http://www.familyunification.net/sponsors.php WBR Quote
virtual Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Instead of using put each line in a different cell. Quote
newseed Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I do not see any spaces between the lines. However, you are using HTML 4.01 Transitional doctype but then you have self-closing tabs like which should be . Self-closing tags are meant for XHTML doctype. Quote
williamrouse Posted April 10, 2009 Author Report Posted April 10, 2009 I don't understand the difference/requirements. I need to research this. My client does not see the extra or blank space either. I use CSE HTML Validator Lite to verify my HTML and in either format or shows no errors with my doctype definition, which means I have to clarify what I am doing. Thanks for looking. WBR Quote
Andrea Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 Look at the second sticky in the HTML/XHTML forum. Quote
williamrouse Posted April 11, 2009 Author Report Posted April 11, 2009 Thelma: I took one pass at reading it tonight. I will have to go back several times to get it all to sink in. Thank you WBR Quote
