Graeme Posted July 3, 2012 Report Share Posted July 3, 2012 Hello All, I'm tying to add more content to a couple of Divs and for some reason the extra won't show! My test web site is at http://www.btinternet.com/~gj.d/garytest/ and the divs are #news and #pad, the news is set at a height of 372px and I thought that if I increased this the content would fit and the pad div would adjust accordingly. Andrea Posted July 3, 2012 Report Share Posted July 3, 2012 I don't have the time right now to play with this, just a few general points: Setting a height for divisions with contend is usually a bad idea - specifically, if the same layout is used for different pages, as the quantity of the content will surely vary throughout your site. Also, the your new div is not inside the content div, so increasing it won't affect #content. I also see other issues: Why lose doctype? Afraid to write best possible code? Use the <h> structure and give your site name -Tryline' and h1, not a p tag. No empty p tags!!!! P tags throughout your site aren't being closed properly. I have <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> is that right?
