searchformeaning Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 I'm new to web programming. I learned basic HTML tags using w3schools website. It was easy to grasp and simple but I did not build any good looking web pages just basic text, images, and hyper links. Now, I want to learn CSS to build good looking (real world) web pages. I did a search on amazon and I found that this book has good reviews CSS the missing manual I'd like to hear from you guys if you recommend this book or other books to start with. Thanks for your help,
benjaminmorgan Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 If you are wanting a book that is definitely one of the best I have read. I prefer videos but that book helped me a lot.
LSW Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Books get outdated fast and cannot be corrected when they are flat out wrong. Use web sites like W3schools.com, they can stay up to date.
newseed Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Some prefer W3c, some books, and others prefer videos. Whatever you choose always keep an open mind to the fact that what is being taught could very well have some mistakes or is outdated.

searchformeaning Posted June 3, 2012 Author Report Posted June 3, 2012 Books get outdated fast and cannot be corrected when they are flat out wrong. Use web sites like W3schools.com, they can stay up to date. The problem with w3schools is that it does not teach how to think of a web page. It just explains what each tag does in plain English. For me, I think this is not enough to build a good web page. I want to learn how to put things together
Dhanishta Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Hi, Learning through w3schools is better way but not that much, you can get more knowledge through sitepoint website and there you can have more practical programs to practice.
AdamJack Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 I hope this book would provide me the best CSS tutorial as i have been learning CSS from w3school site.

administrator Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 You might want to try our site: www.csstutorial.net Myself and Andrea have put up a lot of material there. Jmarton1 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 There is no way to check the content quality of the book, but only if you purchase it. From Book description, it looks cool, but who knows whether book description, describes the book correctly or not.
trenthanover Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 Use web sites like W3schools.com its a best way to learn.
