Wizard Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 (edited) Hello all, I am a website programming baby just outta the womb. I just got a domain name and am simply trying to laod an "under construction" page on the URL. The problem is that when I go to the site, there is an "Index of /" and then below that it says "parent directory" and then below that, the file name of my .html. If I click on my .html, it will display the page like it should look. Someone in another post mentioned deleting the host's index.html, but I looked and didn't see one. I use a small orange for a web host. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more details. Edited February 25, 2009 by Wizard Quote
LSW Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 If there is not index file then there is nothing to show hence the file structure. Rename your file index.php and it will display automatically. Under Construction is tacky... either leave the structure till you have something or call it Future home of and explain what the site will be. Under Construction is just to much retro 90's. Quote
Wizard Posted February 25, 2009 Author Report Posted February 25, 2009 Thanks! at first it didn't work cause I had it in a sub folder, but when I removed it from the sub folder it works. Now and can go to the .com and it is no longer the "Index of /" but displaying the page I want it to. Great help! Quote
LSW Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 As my Gov. would say... "You betcha!". That is if she were in the state long enough to talk to you... That is what we are here for, glad it worked. Quote
