Susie Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Do you compose and write the meta descriptions and keywords for your clients? Or do you give them instructions on how to do it and let them do it themselves (assuming you're giving them a cms or other easily updated site)? I just wonder if you consider this part of the job or is it like them asking their web designer to also be a copywriter? Quote
LSW Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I asked for them, they know their business, customers and products better than I do. That falls under their responsibility. Quote
falkencreative Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I usually ask the client to do that. As you say, I think that falls under the responsibility of the copywriter. I may advise clients on it, but I don't usually write it. Quote
Susie Posted February 19, 2009 Author Report Posted February 19, 2009 I have a client who wants me to write them. Aside from that....what if you're giving them a cms site? Would you consider instructing them on how to physically add them and then let them do it? Quote
jlhaslip Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 No. have them supply the words and you place them inside the script or template. otherwise there could be issues and you will need to fix them. Quote
4folds Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 I usually write the tags for my clients based on what the pages are all about. I find if I tried to get the client to do it, then it'd never actually happen. Then, since I also do monthly search engine marketing for them, I continue to tinker with the tags to make them stronger and stronger over time. This way, I start with a good foundation and make it better... Quote
