I have just been asked to put an RSS feed on a client's website. However, when I saw the never ending list of rss feed directories I wondered if anyone here can recommend a good one. This is for a medical field website.

I've never needed to create an RSS feed manually -- I usually have Wordpress or the content management system I am using do that for me. You may want to check out http://profy.com/2007/09/30/7-tools-to-make-an-rss-feed-of-any-website/ and http://www.html2rss.com/. You can use PHP to generate RSS feeds, since an RSS feed is a simple XML file, but I don't have any experience with that at the moment. I'm sure you could find tutorials online though.

No Ben, I know how to make the xml file, that's easy. What I need to know is which feed aggregator to use and if there are any specific to the medical field.
