background image won't show

Are you sure the image file is named exactly the way it is shown in the CSS, and is in the correct location? Based on your css, you are telling the browser to go up one level, and then look for the image file. For example, this may be your folder structure

 

-- root folder

----- timheader.jpg

----- folder

-------- index.html

-------- style1.css

you are right, the background image is showing up. thank you!

 

its so frustrating to across these problems yet it feels pretty good when the problem is fixed.
