Do I have to push "shift" every time I want to enter "<" or ">"

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am a complete newbie to writing HTML and I wonder:

Do I have to push "shift" every time I want to enter "<" or ">"

(I mean the less than or greater than sign.)

Is there a shortcut to press that key? That key has two functions- the comma and < and the period and >

I am using Macbook Pro OSX 10.6

Sincerely,

Maybe there's a way to reprogram your keyboard and dedicate one button as the < - otherwise, even if you create a shortcut, you'll still end up pushing 2 buttons....

Thank you for all the replies!

At the time I was curious (or wondering) if there was a secret method for professionals- or if there is a specialized keyboard made just for programmers.

So, I will type away....and learn to use both hands dexterously.

sincerely,

and learn to use both hands dexterously

That would be "with dexterity" ;)

you can always copy-paste HTML tags instead of typing them all the time. Besides, for example, Notepad++ has many shotcuts and so the other HTML editors.
