MLF123
Hello all, I've been asked by one of my friends to do some changes on there existing website, at the moment I'm using CS3 Dreamweaver so I'm a bit of a novice & still learning. My friend has given me all the passwords for his hosting company because the website companies gave up & has gone under, So I'm looking to grab hold of the existing website & do some changes Re: FTP Can some advise me the best way to handle this problem. newseed
FTP into the site and download the entire content of the domain's root folder (including all sub-folders). Usually it will be named as wwwroot, htmlpublic or in some cases the name of the domain. Depending on the site, it could take some time in which Dreamweaver FTP might time out thus you will need multiple sessions to complete the download. I suggest try using FileZilla (google it) which works better and much faster in my opinion plus you can set the options to where it it do multiple sesssions. If this site was built using a CMS or Blog tool of some kind then more than likely there is a database you need to get. You will need to check in the host's control panel for that.
