Graeme
Hello All, I'm quite pleased with the way a page is looking except that the banner on my page overlaps the body a little too much to the right. I tried re-sizing but I just can't seem to get it right. Please have a look at www.standrews-chiltonmoor.org.uk See how the banner just say overlaps to the right? Many thanks as always, best wishes Graeme
Graeme
Hello Again, I've been playing around and I think I might have got it, accidently! Thank you Best wishes Graeme
Andrea
Since I'm already looking: The footer font color has way too little contrast to the background and is very hard to read. The header image transition (IMHO) is way too slow - I spend a lot of time looking at some blurry ghost-like things. The navigation bar seems too short compared to the header image (centering might help) Centered layouts look much better than non-centered ones. 69 validation errors-- GRAEME - YOU KNOW BETTER!!! The navigation drop down boxes aren't perfectly aligned. A hover effect would be good. The center tag is deprecated (and yours isn't closed) Shouldn't there be a period behind the St? (As in 'St. Andrew') The copyright symbol stands for 'copyright' so writing the word AND the symbol is redundant.
Graeme
Thank you, I will take all your advice on board. Can I just ask, what do you mean by 'A hover effect would be good' and 'The navigation drop down boxes aren't perfectly aligned' Thanks, Best wishes Graeme
Andrea
A change in background color on hover just makes what the cursor is actually on more noticeable. I looked at the page in Firefox and the drop downs aren't perfectly under the main menu item but a couple or so pixels too far towards the right. Adding a * {margin: 0; padding: 0;} to the very start of your CSS helps with those cross-browser differences in the defaults. (of course it means you have to add margins and padding back in where you actually want them).
