The use of the word 'The' in a url

Never been on here before but just wanted ask some advice about urls. Would the word 'the' have a negative effect on the website appearance in search results?

 

I ask this I have currently have website that I am struggling to get recognised and have been told this could be a factor.

 

Is this correct?

It has advice for urls and what to avoid, but I can't see a mention of avoiding the word "the".

My url has 'the' in it (www.thekaspergroup.com). I have no problems with it.

Everyone is correct; there is nothing negative about using the word 'the' in your domain.

 

How long has the problematic website been up?
