virtual
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about a problem I recently encountered. Having been a fan of Firefox from the beginning I naturally updated to 3.6, having also heard (from Susie I believe) that it has a new feature which highlights errors in red when viewing in source code. OMG, the darn thing will not open any file locally either regular html files or .php through Mamp. To view your file you have to open up a new blank page and physically type in the address. So for someone who is constantly testing pages that is a big pain in the workflow. I checked on Firefox forums and it seems a lot of people have the same problem. It seems there is a bug causing it not to open files with spaces in the name...duh, but that does not resolve what seems to be everyone else's problem. I have now deleted it off the Mac and am reverting to 3.5.8 with which I had no problems. Here is the link to how to revert back in case anyone needs it. http://computersservicing.blogspot.com/2010/01/how-to-downgrade-from-firefox-36-to.html
administrator
Thanks for the post. It is typically a good idea to wait a little while before downloading the latest version of a program ... problem is, I keep making the same mistake over and over again! virtual
It's not the beta version and I believe has been out for a month. So what is a decent time to wait while they iron out all the kinks and creases?
newseed
I think when FX 3 was released, we had a discussion right here on this forum on how you can have both FX2 and FX3 running side by side. Do a search and maybe you can find the instructions that may allow you run mulitples of FX3.? versions.
