sloopy Posted March 31, 2020 Report Share Posted March 31, 2020 Has anyone used the new HTML Payment Request API in a web app? I still don't understand how it is supposed to work. I thought it stored credit card credentials so mobile web users could more easily make online purchases, but further reading makes it sounds like you have open a debit account with a 3rd party online "bank" (similar to PayPal). I know it's purpose is to make it easier to buy things on the web while using a mobile device. In a best case scenario, it would allow you to monetize web apps, possibly PWAs, without having to give Apple/Google 30% of your revenue.
