Guest acausade
Hia all, I'm new to the forum and still a novice with all this web design i'm afraid so sorry if the question may sound a bit dumb. I have a problem which looks as if it should be easy but i have been trying to figure it out for 2 weeks now. HELP!!!! please:) I need to replace my homepage with a new one. The new one i have ready. In filezilla the current homepage is hometext.asp. I need to replace this with one that i have drawn up in html. I saved the new html page as .asp and inserted it as hometext.asp (after renaming the original homepage hometext_orig.asp) But when i call up my homepage in a browser BOTH current and new homepages are displayed one on top of another --- a right mess!!! Maybe the problem is the conflict with the html file and .asp? Is there someway i could command the ftp to look for hometext.html instead of hometext.asp thereby bypassing the old homepage? What is the best thing to do just to get my new homepage in and the browser to recognise it as the homepage? Thanks
jlhaslip
rename the new file to index.html, clear your browser cache and seek the homepage again.
virtual
If you don't know how to clear your browser cache, just refresh your page several times till it shows up right.
