Mysql Command Line Username And Password

I am watching the mysql videos. I have wamp server installed and I dont know the user name and password, so I can run various sql commands from the command line. I tried this command 

-u root --password=root but i get an error.

 

Please help so I can follow the video.

I believe the default username is "root" and the password field is empty "".
