In fact, some people say it can be as much as 30-40x more effective!... The problem is, you have to get those email addresses! So how do you do that? Build a content rich site. Use social media to get some attention. Have good spam filters in place so your list of emails/subscribers doesn't get polluted with the fake accounts. This is a problem btw that everyone on the Web faces. Even Facebook has admitted that a huge percentage of their users are just fake accounts.At killersites, I ignored this whole thing for years ... I let the lists go bad and now we are playing catch-up after years of neglect. Keep in mind 30% traffic you got using of social networking website. when you talk about email marketing is cheap and less business method just spend money. It's because of the low cost of email marketing. Even though the conversion rate of social media is much higher than email marketing but when it comes down to ROI ( Return on Investment) email marketing beats social media marketing. Even if it's more effective(I doubt that) I wouldn't choose that. Instead of that, Social media is a way better platform for increasing your audience on your site. However, I'm not a pro in this theme so you better ask some real agency that is working in this field for a long time. I can recommend these guys from digital marketing Liverpool, they have a lot of certified specialists that are working in this field for a long time.
