You can now either build new sites or convert existing ones over to HTML5 using the new tags and one being the <video> tag. Remember, not all browsers supports HTML5 and so you may require to supply an alternative for such browsers. Quote

Due to these new elements, it will be very easy to integrate multimedia and graphical content to web without using flash and third party plugins. There are also another new elements like <section>, <article>, <header> and <nav> which enrich the semantic value of the document.
