Hi, I am new to this forum and fairly new to web design. My business currently has a website that was designed and is controlled by a local web design company, but we are interested in having full editing capabilities so have thought about redesigning the site ourselves with WordPress. We would want the current website to stay live until the new one is ready to put up in its place. First of all, is that possible? We'd be using the same domain name. If it is possible, how would this be done? Is there a way to design a site with Wordpress but have it only viewable on our own server, and then transfer it to godaddy (who is our current host) when we are ready? I have no experience with WordPress, but have some basic skills with Dreamweaver. Thanks for any tips!
