  1. That is interesting, I have thought of commercial company's Facebook pages as a bit of a fad until now. The problem is that if you do a search for this particular company's name, their Facebook page is top of the results list. Therefore all their EXISTING customer can find them and they think they have an effective web presence.
  2. A prospective client currently uses Facebook instead of having a 'proper' website. Apart from it looking a bit cheap (which they are not too bothered about) is there any other negative aspect of this? I assume that search engines will not index the Facebook page as well as a normal site but maybe I am wrong? I would like to approach them with some strong arguments for having their own site, even though they will have to pay for it.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Upgrading later is probably not very desirable as this would be an unmaintained site once it is up and running. But I will try the budget option first and see how it goes.
  4. I am creating a basic site for someone where overall cost is a big issue. I am considering a web hosting package that costs £5.99 a year. This seems like a bargain but I am a little concerned about the monthly traffic limit of 2GB. The site will be just a single page with 'who we are', 'what we do' and 'where we are' info on it. Probably one largish JPG/PNG image and one animated GIF but mainly text. Is 2GB monthly traffic enough?
  5. Yeehah! Thanks a million for that, I would never have worked that out on my own!
  6. I have a problem with a site I am building that is really perplexing me. Everything works OK on various browsers (IE8, IE9, Konqueror, Firefox) on both Windows and Linux but NOT in Firefox on Windows (XP or Vista). I have done quite a bit of searching on this and the only thing I can find is that it is probably because I am using a nested DIV. However, so far I have not found a solution. I have used this template before without any problems, well none that I noticed. The site in question is: w ww.abercrombietodd.co.uk I have attached a copy of the stylesheet. default.css
