    .css files

But will the browser read a notepad file? When Stefen saves it on the video the file seems to change to a different format. When I save it as a .css it just stays in the notepad icon and the browser is not reading it. The link is right because I a doing exactly what the video is doing.

    .css files

I have created a root.css file and dropped it in the folder of the website I am working on, as instructed on the video. It is still saved as a notepad doc and will not read on my site. Is this .css file supposed to be saved a certain way so that the browser can read it?
  3. I found it and thanks for your help. I am sure I will be back with more questions and I am very happy with KillerSites so far..
  4. It only allows me to pick from web browsers when I pick open with. It allows me to browse but what file is notepad in?
  5. I have just begun my journey on learning HTML and CSS. I am understanding things pretty well but I am completely stumped on what is probably a very simple thing. My question is this: When I create a file in notepad and then write code then save it .html it automatically makes the icon my browser, therefore not allowing me to edit since it will be vewied on the web when I open it. In the video I can see that Stefan is only clicking on the files that show the internet explorer icon but he is editing in notepad. Right now I am saving the document 2 times, 1 as a text and 1 as .html, which is very time consuming. Can someone please tell me how to save the notepad file as a .html and be able to work with that document within notepad? I also saved a ROOT.CSS file from notepad and then when I try to link it to the index page it does not read it because it is still a text file. I noticed on Stefan's video that when he saved the .css it changed the color of the icon and mine stayed the same. I am thinking these two inquires are from the same simple thing that I am over looking. Thanks
