Actually I should have written notepad but the info applies that you have given. I wondered about the different ways of getting to the editing file in wordpad and notepad.
Now the CSS page I have created in wordpad does not seem to be doing exactly as the page in the tutorial is doing. Some of the things are happening but others are not like for instance when changing the color from blue to red it stays blue, and or the text width commands do not seem to be taking effect after the changes and saving of the info on updated word. Also the mouse over popups are not seen....
Can notepad instead of wordpad be used fo the css file?
Seems like communication issue with the css.text file somehow yet all the code seems to check out with the tutorial.
Maybe the text file is save as .txt or something the browser can't quite see?? Maybe will go back an redo the page using the explorer tree, as I remember using the win 7 dropdown under file to select the edit function. Also making sure there is only one copy open of a file being edited as well.
With two copies of the same file open the save function onl upates one of the files so if not watching or noticing the screw up the wrong file that was not updated can get back in the folder somehow causing problems.
Seems like it would be easier with out all the changing systems etc in the browser development, developer software etc but it is somthing that will have to be dealt with so better learn now rather than later.
For now trying to build up an learn the basics like Stefan says and then can add in or take out to reinforce and learn more.
